This is my ISBI (I’m Surrounded By Idiots) challenge blog and it will tell the story of Lara Stephansdom and her descendants. Every sim in the descending line (as well as Lara) have the insane trait and I am only allowed to control one at a time. So in addition to being an interesting experiment in whether or not I have the patience to allow my sims to run wild, it will be an insanely good time!
Rules
When starting (and throughout the rest of the challenge) you can only have one controllable sim at a time. When others move in (spouses) or kids are born or adopted (as they must be to carry on the legacy) you can only control the current playable sim, or torch holder. Every child born into the family (or adopted) must be given the insane trait when they are born or grow into a child.
Whats the goal of all this insanity? Well, you want to get through ten generations with the least amount of fires, social worker visits, pass outs and accidental deaths. If the torch holder dies, thats it, game over!
You CANNOT: hire a nanny, hire a babysitter, or anyone from the “services” menu. This means no babysitters, maids or repairmen.
There is a minimum of two sims per generation. As an added rule I am going to randomize all other traits (ie make the first trait I am allowed to pick insane and then randomize the rest). Lifetime Wishes can only be locked in when children become YA.
Hacks are allowed if they don’t change the difficulty of the game, but I am not using any anyways.
You can marry sims you created for genetic diversity.
Every three generations you must take fertility treatment.

EDIT 6/23/10: I have added my own rule regarding spouses. If a spouse enters the house without a job I can give them one (but only on the day they move in). If they enter the house with a job that does not mesh well with a legacy challenge where I can’t control them (any of the new Ambition jobs that require minute by minute control at work) then I can change it. On their elder birthday I can choose to retire them from their job or not, but after that day I cannot change it.
NOTE: I am playing with the Ambitions expansion pack (Yay.. btw I love it!). So if there are complications that arise with challenge rules when I’m playing it I’ll make adjustments as I see fit!Without further ado… This is my founder: Lara Stephansdom
